Snap-on Equipment’s newest addition to its suite of productivity tools, the BFH 800, has been named to Motor Magazine’s Top 20 Tools for 2007. Each year the editorial staff at Motor Magazine recognizes 20 tools for the features and benefits they possess in assisting technicians with service performance and productivity.

World’s Largest Auto Recon Center Outfitted with Snap-on Equipment

Manheim Auto Auction in Manheim, Pa. celebrated its grand opening April 19. The 200,000-square-foot facility is home to the largest recon center in the world, and a large array of new shop equipment from John Bean.
"We use 2-post and 4-post lifts, tire balancers, and your latest alignment equipment," said Bryan Allison, assistant general manager." Pretty much our entire shop is outfitted with Snap-on based equipment."
With 19 different service bays, Manheim runs between 10,000 and 18,000 cars per week through its sale. The company looks for equipment that can stand up to the demanding needs of their business.
"We can service as many as 150 to 200 cars per day, depending on what work needs to be done. We look for superb service and equipment that will last quite a while," Allison said.
Manheim began using Snap-on Equipment’s John Bean products in its facility about five years ago.
"I was introduced to Steve Serio in National Account Sales, and he has always done us right and hands down delivers outstanding service. We service all major manufacturers here and have the largest base of customers from coast to coast in the auction industry. It is very important that we put the proper resources and tools in front of our employees to provide the best service possible."

Snap-on Equipment Participates in First U.S. Certified Autopromotec

BOLOGNA, Italy - The 22nd edition of the Autopromotec Show represented the first time in the 44-year history of the show that the exhibit received U.S. Trade Fair Certification, and Snap-on Equipment was a part of this historic trade moment.
The Certification Program selects overseas trade shows that offer the best marketing venue to U.S. exhibitors, and from May 23-27, Snap-on Equipment’s participation allowed its products to be presented to the more than 93,000 industry professionals from across the world.
Participants gathered at the Bologna Trade Fair Center to take part in the most specialized international showcase of products & equipment for the automotive industry.
At this year’s show, Snap-on Equipment products were showcased in the booth of our Italian distributor, Aratek. The John Bean products were shown to a very positive response, just miles from the Snap-on Equipment manufacturing facility in Correggio, Italy.

John Bean’s V3D aligners have more money-saving features than any other brand in the industry. These features include Wheel Dimensioning Plus, patented software that can save your shop time and money.
The exclusive Wheel Dimensioning Plus system uses high-resolution cameras to create three-dimensional models of the vehicle plane, wheel planes and the axis spindle of each tire. The system then uses the 3-D model to calculate the distance between the axis from driver side to rear-right passenger and front passenger to rear-left passenger, thus creating a "criss-cross" pattern of measurement. These measurements should be equal, if not, this is a strong indication that your customer’s vehicle has experienced frame damage (usually the result of a wreck). If repairs must be done before alignment can be achieved, the operator is aware of this before alignment is attempted, not after or during the job.
