Snap-on Equipment Releases Fully Automatic Tire Changer - The Quadriga ATC 1000

John Bean Quadriga ATC 1000

May 15, 2009 -- Snap-on Equipment introduces the industry’ first fully-automatic, laser-guided tire changing system: the Quadriga ATC 1000. Designed for high-volume tire shops and dealerships handling a wide variety of wheel types, the Quadriga makes the most difficult steps in tire changing simple, safe and consistent. It boasts automatic wheel lifting, clamping, laser-guided bead breaking and tire demounting. These processes are controlled by using a paddle switch and foot pedals. The Quadriga promises to revolutionize the way you change tires by significantly improving technician safety, wheel service consistency, and by reducing the costs associated with wheel damage.

The Quadriga ATC 1000 requires less operator intervention and no tool-to-wheel contact to break beads or to mount and demount tires from the wheel. It uses a patent-pending laser guidance system to automatically identify the wheel’s edge and relies on computer-controlled, robotic bead removal tools, delivering unparalleled accuracy and providing "Do No Harm™" performance. The Quadriga’s laser guidance builds upon the patented and award-winning innovations in laser technology by Snap-on Equipment that are currently featured in other wheel service products they carry.

The Quadriga ATC 1000 is also designed with technician safety and ergonomics in mind. Manual lifting and other high-impact steps are eliminated, and the chances of damaging expensive wheels or tires are dramatically reduced. The Quadriga’s patent-pending, intelligent wheel lift automatically measures tire diameter and positions the turntable automatically at the wheel’s center while it is being raised. An exclusive, hydraulically-controlled clamp automatically applies optimal clamping force at the wheel center. Clamping at the wheel center instead at the wheel edge enables true, one-man operation while eliminating the risk - and associated cost - of wheel damage.

Although loaded with automatic features, the Quadriga ATC 1000 is simple to operate. A single paddle switch control is all that is required for the entire mount/demount process. Every technician will quickly be able to handle even the most difficult wheels safely and effectively. The Quadriga ATC 1000 will take your business to the next level by increasing the range of wheels you service while improving safety and consistency.
