Arago V3D Simplifies Wheel Alignment Via Advanced Technology

Arago V3D Imaging Wheel Aligner

May 25, 2005 -- The Arago V3D by John Bean, a division of Snap-on Equipment, is making wheel alignment faster and easier than ever, due to advances in digital technology. This is of great interest to shop owners and managers who are interested in growing alignment as a revenue sources.

The Arago uses live, computerized 3-D modeling and high-resolution cameras, coupled with an extensive database of vehicle information, to provide fast and accurate alignments under an array of working conditions. The time from vehicle arrival to initial reading is less than two minutes in most cases. There is no need to level the system before each use, unlike older systems using electronic gravity or targets.

"The technology of the Arago V3D helps every technician become an alignment expert with minimal training," said Todd Foreman, John Bean alignment product manager. A computerized interface features clear and simple iconography to guide the user directly to the desired program step, both for measurement and adjustment. The system’s DigiSmart technology, exclusive to John Bean, constantly tracks targets and updates measurements through work-height changes. Foreman says this is important for user comfort and safety, especially on more complicated alignments.

In addition to an extensive database of manufacturer information for alignment specifications, the Arago V3D keeps track of customer information, searchable by name, registration or VIN. This gives a technician rapid access to historical repair data and eliminates redundant data entry.
